I’ve got popcorn time 4.4 on my Mac and it won’t open properly - keeps saying it’s initialising but the loading bar freezes and the link below to ‘click if loading is stuck’ doesn’t do anything?? I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling it, as well as restarting my computer and updating the software. Any advice?
When deleting PCT make sure all files (some might be in Temp folders) are gone, then reinstall the latest dev build from here
I don’t know much about OSX as I dont do Mac but using the latest build could fix things for you.
Any problems with PT.app requiring a clean reboot or new install … delete these folders/file first:
~/Library/Application Support/ Popcorn-Time
~/Library/Saved Application State/ com.nw-builder.popcorn-time.savedState
if you’ve done it correctly you should see “The Terms of Service” window when you eventually reboot?
If you’re having trouble finding the user Library:
click on the Desktop and go to the Finder top menu, then press “shift” key and click on “Go” in the top menu. You should see the Library folder? (It’s the shift key that makes it appear - normally it’s invisible).
Or open Spotlight search bar and enter: ~/Library (It will show up in the right hand pane).
If you’re getting system resource issues (or freezes) with the OSX (0.4.x) builds on an older Mac … try an 0.3.10 patched version of #293. Here’s a (limited life) link to an OSX copy … if you’re a bit lost with the whole process!
